The Summer I Turned Pretty is an American coming-of-age romantic drama television series created by author Jenny Han for Amazon Prime Video, and is based on her novel trilogy of the same name. The series stars Lola Tung as Isabel “Belly” Conklin, Jackie Chung as Laurel Park, Rachel Blanchard as Susannah Fisher, Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher, Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah Fisher, Sean Kaufman as Steven Conklin, Rain Spencer as Taylor Madison among others.
Belly is a wonderful, beautiful young girl who had spent all her summer since birth with the Fishers in their summer house in Cousins, and she has been always been seen as the little belly everyone cherished even to Conrad who she has always had crush on. The Fisher’s are a very close friends to the Conklin’s, they always spend their summers together in cousins. Laurel and Susannah has been close wonderful friends since college and their bond is as strong as that of sisters. They are each other’s soul mate, even their partners don’t have a chance in between them, they and their children comes first to each other.
Every summer they all go to he Fishers summer house in cousins, where they all have their own room. They all have fun throw parties, Belly have an every night routine of swimming before bed which she shares with Jeremiah, they were the closest and the most important the July 4th celebration.
But everything is different this summer, this summer she becomes extremely pretty, this summer is the summer she is turning 16, the summer everyone began to notice her as and not as as the little Bellybean. This is the summer she got her first kiss and a couple more, the summer of her first love experience and the summer of her first heartbreak actually two heartbreaks.
That summer was really different, everything changed that summer for Belly and for the Family. The family was shaken to the core that summer, she fell in love, she found herself in love triangle.
The series is wonderful story, it definitely gave me butterflies in my stomach, and reaffirmed my love for Taylor Swift. It is a series I recommend and am sure would be relatable to some people out there.
I am sure you would love found out how Belly navigated her Love triangle, what happened to her and her Conrad and extent at which emotions where flying everywhere. It is currently a two season series with the announced to be a 10 part series.
