We all love a good franchise movie, movie you can binge on a marathon with your friends or loved one(s) throughout the weekend or the holidays. Here are wonderful, intriguing, action packed franchise movie you can binge this holiday:
Bad Boys
Bad Boys is a series of American buddy cop action comedy films.It stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as two detectives in the Miami Police Department, Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett.
Its so far a three part franchise with a fourth in the works. The first part “Bad Boys” was released in 1995, where Mike and Marcus was to recover $100 million worth of drug which also became a revenge mission after a friend was murdered
The second part “Bad Boys II ” released in 2003, where Mike and Marcus head a task force to investigate the flow of ecstacy in Miami. The third part “Bad Boys for Life” released in 2020, where Mike was against his own son.
An unnamed fourth part is in the works as is set to be released June 14, 2024.
The Twilight Saga
The Twilight Saga is a series of romance fantasy films based on the book series Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It’s a five part franchise installment withe the first installment, “Twilight”, was released on November 21, 2008. The second installment, “New Moon”, followed on November 20, 2009.
The third installment, “Eclipse”, was released on June 30, 2010. The fourth installment, “Breaking Dawn – Part 1”, was released on November 18, 2011, while the fifth installment, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2”, was released on November 16, 2012.
Fast and Furious
Fast & Furious is an American media franchise centered on a series of action films that are largely concerned with street racing, heists, spies, and family. It’s so far a 10 part franchise installment, with the first installment “The Fast and the Furious” released in June 22, 2001.
The second installment “2 Fast 2 Furious” released in June 6, 2003. The third installment “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” was released in June 16, 2006, the fourth installment “Fast and Furious” was released in April 3, 2009 and the fifth installment “Fast Five” in April 29, 2011.
The Sixth installment “Fast & Furious 6” in May 24, 2013, the seventh “Furious 7” in April 3, 2015, and “The Fate of the Furious” which was the eighth installment released in April 14, 2017. A spin-off film “Fast & Furious Present: Hobbs & Shaw” was released in August 2, 2019.
The ninth instalment “F9” was released in June 25, 2021 and the tenth “Fast X” was released May 19, 2023. There is an eleventh part in the development which would bridge Fast X and the spin-off Boobs and Shaw. It’s set to be titled Hobbs and Reyes.
So far, that’s 10 part of high adrenaline, speed, destruction loyalty and family worth of movie. The series has been commercially successful. It is Universal’s biggest franchise and the seventh highest-grossing film series, with a combined gross of over $7 billion.[

The Purge
The Purge is an American anthology media franchise centered on a series of dystopian action horror films. The films present a seemingly normal, crime-free America in the near-future. However, the country is a dystopia which observes an annual event known as “the Purge”, in which all crime, including murder, is decriminalized for a 12-hour period.
The franchise began in 2013 with “The Purge”, then a sequel “The Purge Anarchy” in 2014. In 2016, the third part instalment “The Purge: Election Year” was released, followed by a fourth part “The First Purge” in 2018.
In 2021, the fifth installment “The Forever Purge” was released and that same year it was announced that a sixth part will be coming soon.
Jason Bourne
The Bourne franchise consists of action-thriller installments based on the character Jason Bourne, created by author Robert Ludlum. The franchise includes five films and a spin-off television series. The overall plot centers around Jason Bourne, a CIA assassin suffering from dissociative amnesia, portrayed by Matt Damon.
The first installment “The Bourne Identity” was released in June 14, 2002, with the sequel “The Bourne Supremacy” in July 23, 2004. The third installment in “The Bourne Ultimatum” was released August 3, 2007. The fourth installment “The Bourne Legacy” which starred Jeremy Renner (as Aaron Cross) to replace the unavailable Matt Damon was released August 10, 2012 and the final part “Jason Bourne” was released July 29, 2016.
The Bourne franchise is an interesting action packed film, great hand to hand combat scene, shooting scene and marvelous sniping scene too. Its a must watch for action lovers.
Creed
Creed is an American sports drama film and a spin-off film series from the original franchise “Rocky”. The spin-off franchise are Creed (2015), followed by Creed II (2018), and Creed III (2023). The series stars Michael B. Jordan as boxer Adonis Creed, with Stallone as his trainer in the first two films. The Creed films were directed by Ryan Coogler, Steven Caple Jr., and Jordan respectively.
The franchise will continue with a fourth Creed film, while a Drago film, a prequel television series, and various other spin-offs are in active development.
Equaliser
The Equalizer is an American spy thriller multimedia franchise. It originated with a CBS television series from 1985 to 1989 starring Edward Woodward. The concept was thereafter rebooted twice with a trilogy of movies (The Equalizer in 2014, The Equalizer 2 in 2018, and The Equalizer 3 in 2023) starring Denzel Washington and a re-imagined 2021 television series, also on CBS, starring Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall.
The franchise centers on a retired intelligence agent with a mysterious past, who uses the skills from his former career to exact justice on behalf of innocent people who find themselves in dangerous circumstances, while sometimes also dealing with people from their past in covert operations who want to pull them back in or settle old scores.

A British secret agent working for MI6 under the codename 007, Bond has been portrayed on film in twenty-seven productions by actors Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
The Franchise currently has twenty-five films, with the most recent, No Time to Die, released in September 2021.
Mission Impossible
Mission: Impossible is a series of American action spy films, based on the 1966 TV series created by Bruce Geller. The series is mainly produced by and stars Tom Cruise, who plays Ethan Hunt, an agent of the Impossible Missions Force (IMF).
The series has experienced a generally positive reception from critics. It is the 17th-highest-grossing film series of all time, earning over $4.09 billion worldwide, and is often cited as one of the best action franchises to date.
The franchise first installment “Mission Impossible” was released May 22, 1996, with its sequel “Mission Impossible 2” in May 24, 2000. The third installment “Mission Impossible 3” in May 5, 2006, the fourth “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” in December 16, 2011. The fifth installment “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” in July 31, 2015, he sixth “Mission Impossible: Fallout” released in July 27, 2018. The seventh a recent one “Mission Impossible: Death Reckoning Part One” was released July 12, 2023, with its second part set to be released May 23, 2025.
Transformers
Transformers is a series of science fiction action films based on the Transformers franchise of the 1980s. Michael Bay directed the first five live action films: Transformers (2007), Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Dark of the Moon (2011), Age of Extinction (2014), and The Last Knight (2017), and has served as a producer for subsequent films. A sixth film Bumblebee, directed by Travis Knight, was released in 2018, while a seventh film, Rise of the Beasts, directed by Steven Caple Jr. was released in 2023.
An eight installment “Transformers One” is in development and is set to be released in September 13, 2024.
It is the 13th-highest-grossing film series, with a total of $5.28 billion; the series films have generally been successful at the box office, with Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction grossing over $1 billion each.
